Part II of Maintenance of Certification is entitled “Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment”. The requirements developed by the ABNS and accepted by the American Board of Medical Specialties include CME and other credit hours based on the following principles:

20 CME credits during each year

Type I 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ in neurosurgery related activities

The following activities will be reported automatically:

  • Oakstone Publishing – Practical Reviews in Neurosurgery
  • Lippincott/WoltersKluwer Health – Contemporary Neurosurgery
  • Lippincott/WoltersKluwer Health – Contemporary Spine Surgery

Diplomates must self-report CME credits earned from any other activities offered by the two publishing companies named above.
