Part II of Continuous Certification is entitled “Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment”. The requirements developed by the ABNS and accepted by the American Board of Medical Specialties include CME and other credit hours based on the following principles:

20 CME credits during each year

Type I 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ in neurosurgery related activities

The following activities will be recorded automatically:

  • Participation in the ABNS oral exam as an examiner
  • Completion of any of the ABNS Learning modules when credit is claimed

Diplomates must self-report CME credits earned from any other activities.
